IOportal Agent configuration files are created inside IOportal and then imported into SAM4H. Their purpose is to configure SAM4H to collect and upload capacity and performance data to the IOportal.
How to
- A user needs to have permission in order to create and edit agent configurations. If the menu Administration -> Agent Management is not visible, request the "agent" role with an email to service-desk@peaq.ch
- In IOportal, go to Administration -> Agent Management and click on "Create new agent"
- Each instance of SAM4H, requires a single agent configuration. If you use several SAM4H instances, e.g. due to network segregation of production and test systems, create a separate agent object for each SAM4h instance
- Each SAM4H instance and can be configured to collect data from multiple arrays
- Provide following information:
- Friendly name, potential proxy settings for reaching the IOportal URL and uploading files. Select a number of storage arrays and add them to the agent
- For each added storage array, provide following: SVP IP and/or Controller IP, Credentials of dedicated export user that is used for collecting performance data using the export tool.
- For E series only, users can furthermore select whether to collect performance data using the export tool v1 or v2
- When finished, download the configuration file and import it in SAM4H under: Administration > IOportal Agent > Import Agent Config
