What is the IOportal?

The IOportal provides data centre customers the possibility to upload their Hitachi performance data to an Internet portal, which transforms the data into plottable format and offers graphs and performance reports over short ranges for ad-hoc performance analysis, but also over long ranges for resource planning purposes. The user’s performance analysis work is facilitated by integrated data analytics algorithms and a powerful Anomaly Radar plus a sophisticated Dashboard that guides the user in his/her work.

The IOportal was built and is maintained by peaq Switzerland. The graphs and their underlying data are rigorously tested and verified by engineers to provide the end user with correct, meaningful information and reliable insight, in order to allow for successful business decisions.

The IOportal includes threshold values in its charts and reports that are defined based on Hitachi best practices derived from numerous customer situations. The threshold values, integrated in the graphs and reports, allow novice users to correctly interpret the relevance and consequences of the dynamical behavior of the Hitachi Storage Systems.

The IOportal’s Web user interface is designed to support quick and intuitive navigation to get to the bottom of his analysis as quickly as possible. The GUI provides the following features:

  • Select the storage system in scope of the investigation
  • Navigate between the Anomaly Radar, the Dashboard and the Capacity/Performance Views
  • Define the objects for which to generate graphs
  • Select time range and time resolution (average interval)
  • Create and download a Performance Report with your own comments
  • Download graph specific data (csv format) or graphs (png format)
  • Configure the IOportal to send you capacity and alert reports
  • This online documentation
